- Contacts, messages, or media files.
- Browsing history or activity outside the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited data we collect solely to:
- Calculate accurate prayer times based on your location.
- Deliver timely salah notifications and adhan alerts.
- Improve app stability and performance through crash reports.
- Understand how features are used to guide future development.
- Check for and deliver app updates.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the app.
3. Location Data
Mawaddah requests access to your device location to calculate accurate prayer times for your specific geographic position. This is the core functionality of the app.

- Location is used only to compute prayer times and Qibla direction.
- Location data is processed on-device or via a secure prayer time API.
- We do not store your precise location on our servers.
- Location is not used for advertising or shared with any marketing partners.
Your Control
- You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
- If you deny location access, you can manually enter your city to use the app.
4. Third-Party Services
Mawaddah uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Google Firebase
- Firebase Crashlytics: Anonymous crash reporting.
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics.
- Firebase Remote Config: Server-side configuration.
Firebase services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Prayer Time APIs
To deliver accurate prayer times, the app may communicate with a prayer calculation server. Only your approximate coordinates (city/region level) are transmitted — never your exact real-time GPS position.
5. Data Storage & Security
We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard measures:
- All app preferences are stored locally on your device using secure storage.
- Any server communication is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- We retain anonymous analytics data for no longer than 14 months, per Google's Firebase Analytics policy.
- We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
6. Children's Privacy
Mawaddah does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. The app is suitable for general Muslim audiences of all ages, including children, as it does not require account creation or personal data submission.
